Otakon 2010, Day 2
Jul. 31st, 2010 22:33The "Anime in Academia" panel went well this afternoon--we filled Panel 1 to capacity, and I thought we were more put together as panelists, and had an audience with better questions, than last year. I ran out of business cards, which was a first. I need to get new ones anyway.
It's been a good day otherwise, too. I love just being at Otakon and observing my fellow fans putting their passions into action, and it's interesting to see how Otakon as a con has evolved--I think I first went in 2001 or 2002, and it's quite different now at almost every level. Not necessarily better or worse--Otakon is the convention of the otaku generation after all, not specifically only for anime and manga fandom, and the membership is getting more subculture-ish as time goes on. Very interesting.
See you at Schoolgirls and Mobilesuits!
