This summer I'm working for Abigail de Kosnik of UC Berkeley on a project around fan fiction and internet memory. Specifically, I'm managing a team of undergraduates doing data collection of public archives, and I'm conducting oral history interviews. We received our final approval from Berkeley's IRB this morning, and some people will have started receiving invitations to participate in these interviews from me as of about an hour ago. We have a (work-in-progress) website, and anyone I've invited who wants to know my fannish pseudonym is welcome to send me either a PM here on Dreamwidth or an email at the address on my profile - I suspect most people I've contacted are aware of my other name, but if you're not and you want to get a sense of my fannish history and background, please don't hesitate to ask.
Mostly due to time constraints, the project is currently invitation-only, and my email response will be a bit slow for the next two weeks, as I'll be traveling to Buenos Aires and Los Angeles, for fun and to present at Anime Expo, respectively. Thanks for your consideration! I'm really looking forward to our conversations.
