Not infrequently in the 1980s the French mandarin school of social history flaunted intellectualization like a boulevard weapon of self-promotion and succumbed to dancing the seven veils of post-Marxism on the tables of the Left Bank cafes to court the younger Parisian generation.Historiography: because you can't make this shit up. (And which Left Bank cafes were they?)
