I can't recall any others, but it would probably surprise you how little pure history I've read. I'm wondering whether A World Lit Only By Fire might not be, at least in sections, but it's been ages since I read that book and I don't have my copy with me.
It works brilliantly here, though, because Spence can discuss the divine revelations and visitations and visions that the Taiping experienced fairly frequently without being forced by syntax to pass judgment on them.
